Anderson Lake, British Columbia, Canada, which we discovered unexpectedly.
It was a journey where the road ended, and the lake began. From Whistler, we had gone to find a beautiful turquoise lake the hotel recommended. The mountains were so high, our cell phones (with GPS) lost reception. After missing the turn, and driving a couple hours past our intended destination (with no Starbucks, gas station or any form of human life to be seen), the road became a rocky path through an Indian reservation, and then the road actually ended...and this other, beautiful lake began. Often, the most breathtaking journeys are unexpected.
